Then this may be the job for you. Here at Cambridge City Council, we are seeking a dynamic and innovative leader to join our team and champion our mission to create more resilient communities, especially in areas of highest need.

As our Assistant Director, Housing & Homelessness you will be the lead four key people facing teams, and work closely with other key providers and commissioners to deliver positive housing outcomes for all Cambridge residents and communities. With a strong emphasis on prevention, you will work closely with other Communities Group teams, the County, NHS and voluntary sector to ensure our services are joined-up, insights are shared, and collaboration is at the forefront of our efforts.

In this role, you will oversee and implement effective policies and strategies in relation to the Council's housing and community safety responsibilities to ensure compliance, prevention, and secure local environments. You will also be responsible for the delivery of our innovative Housing First programme and our modular homes for rough sleepers and homeless. As well as, developing new preventative approaches to homelessness and collaborations with internal teams and our partners to improve the social determinates of health.

As part of the leadership at Cambridge City Council, you will work collaboratively with elected Members to provide a clear Council vision, develop and deliver the Council's budget, explore new opportunities, define and deliver policies and plans, and align services to ensure these are achieved. You will also have a transformative effect on ways of operating, fostering and promoting an organisational culture where employees are engaged, feel valued, empowered to challenge, and have the autonomy to work in a flexible way, be creative, and take managed risks.
